The 10th Anniversary Awards Gala Dinner, held at the Copthorne Tara Hotel in Kensington, was the highlight of the celebrations. The evening brought together distinguished guests, honourees, diplomats, and friends of the Summit.

The climax of the evening was the announcement of a major educational support initiative by Book Aid for Africa—the donation of two (2) 20-foot containers of academic books to the Kebbi State Government of Nigeria. This generous gesture was made in recognition of Governor Nasir Idris’ achievements and his award as Africa Governor of the Year 2025.

The books and award was received on behalf of the Governor, by a delegation led by the Kebbi State’s Deputy Governor His Excellency (Sen.) Zayanu Umar Abubakar Tafida in company of the State’s Commissioner for Special Duties and intergovernmental relations, Hon. Zayanu Umar Aliero, Hon. Halima Bande,Hon. Comm. for Education, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Politics and Power Hon. Muhammed Kabiru Sani.

Tribute to Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga

The Summit also took a solemn moment to honour the memory of Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, the late Global Patron of the London Political Summit, and a revered Pan-Africanist and democratic icon.

In his remembrance, a minute of silence and prayer was observed at three significant moments —
• during the House of Commons Parliamentary Session,
• at the Council Chamber of Islington Council, and
• at the Summit Awards Gala Dinner.

His Excellency’s passing was deeply felt across the Summit community, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, the people of Kenya, and all who celebrate his legacy of peace, unity, and democratic leadership across Africa.
