A Special Letter Calling for Immediate Action to End the War of Death in the DRC

The ongoing crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a stain onOrder and for Rwanda to Rethink Its Role in the DRC War of Aggression

By Godson Azu

The ongoing crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a stain on the conscience of the international community, particularly African leadership. Decades of conflict have claimed millions of lives, displaced entire ethnic nationalities and communities, and left the heart of Africa in perpetual turmoil. The time for mere diplomatic rhetoric is over. Enough is enough! the conscience of the international community, particularly African leadership. Decades of conflict have claimed millions of lives, displaced entire ethnic nationalities and communities, and left the heart of Africa in perpetual turmoil. The time for mere diplomatic rhetoric is over. Enough is enough!

A Call to Action: The UN and AU Must Act, Not Just Speak

The United Nations (UN) and the African Union (AU) must move beyond condemnation and press statements. The DRC is bleeding, and its people cannot afford another cycle of broken promises and failed interventions. The world must recognize that peace in the DRC is not just a regional necessity but a global imperative.

The AU, in particular, must take full responsibility for leading an African solution to this African problem. The silence and inaction of African leaders have only emboldened aggressors. The time has come to call all parties—state and non-state actors—to order. There must be an immediate ceasefire, a negotiated peace process, and a long-term commitment to stability and development in the region.

Rwanda Must Rethink Its Role in the DRC Conflict

Rwanda’s involvement in the DRC conflict has been widely reported and debated. The persistent allegations of direct and indirect support for armed groups destabilizing the region must be addressed with the urgency they deserve. The world is watching, and history will judge harshly those who fuel destruction instead of peace.

Rwanda, as an African nation, has the opportunity to lead by example—by prioritizing dialogue, withdrawing any support for militant factions, and embracing a genuine commitment to regional stability. It is time to rethink its approach and be a partner in peace rather than a party to destruction.

Africa’s Troubles Must Be Solved by Africans

The endless cycle of wars, exploitation, and suffering in Africa is not sustainable. The DRC’s crisis is not just a Congolese problem—it is an African problem. Until African nations unite to resolve their own conflicts without waiting for Western interventions, the continent will remain vulnerable to external manipulation and internal disintegration.

African leaders, civil society, and regional organizations must rise to the occasion. It is time for real peace talks, economic cooperation, and mutual respect among neighbors. The days of turning a blind eye must end. Africa must solve Africa’s problems.

Enough Is Enough!

The world can no longer afford to look away. The people of the DRC deserve peace, security, and prosperity. The UN and AU must step up. Rwanda must reconsider its role. And African nations must take ownership of their collective destiny.

It is time for decisive action. The war of death must end now!
