Mazi Godson Azu recently had the distinguished opportunity to briefly meet with the newly appointed High Commissioner of Nigeria to the Court of St. James’s, London, His Excellency Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu. The meeting took place shortly after the Ambassador formally presented his Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Charles III, marking the official commencement of his diplomatic duties in the United Kingdom.
The brief but significant interaction occurred at the Nigerian High Commission in London, as His Excellency was preparing to attend the King’s Annual Garden Party at Buckingham Palace, following his official accreditation to the Court of St. James’s.
During the meeting, Mazi Godson Azu had the honour of presenting the official London Political Summit and Awards Welcome Letter and Certificate of Appreciation to His Excellency Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu. The presentation was made on behalf of the London Political Summit and Awards in recognition of the Ambassador’s appointment as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom — a diplomatic posting widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most strategic and highly valued international assignments.
The gesture also served as a warm welcome to the United Kingdom and an expression of goodwill from members of the Nigerian diaspora community, policy stakeholders, and participants of the London Political Summit and Awards platform, which continues to promote constructive engagement on governance, diplomacy, democracy, diaspora relations, and international cooperation.
Speaking during the interaction, Mazi Godson Azu commended the Ambassador’s distinguished diplomatic service and expressed confidence that his tenure would further strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and United Kingdom, while deepening engagement with Nigerians in the diaspora.
