It was a distinct pleasure and an honor to host the National President of the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, Comrade Jonathan Lokpobiri, and his esteemed team this afternoon (24th of August, 2024) in Peterborough during his official visit to the United Kingdom. This visit, aimed at engaging with Ijaw youths in the diaspora, provided an invaluable opportunity to discuss matters of mutual interest and concern.
Our discussions were not only fruitful but also underscored the shared commitment to advancing the interests of the Ijaw community both within Nigeria and abroad. We delved into various topics, including strategies for fostering unity and progress among Ijaw youths, and explored avenues for collaboration on future initiatives that would benefit the community at large.
A highlight of our meeting was the conversation about Comrade Lokpobiri’s upcoming participation as a guest speaker at the 9th Annual London Political Summit 2024, scheduled for October. His inclusion as a speaker at this prestigious event, to be held in the historic House of Commons, is a testament to his leadership and the significant role the Ijaw Youth Council continues to play in shaping political discourse.
