In a statement issued by its Board of Directors, the organisation described the Governor’s action as a significant milestone in the educational and socio-economic advancement of Benue State, noting that the establishment of the institution reflects a deliberate investment in the future of young people and the development of a knowledge-based economy.

The Board stated that the university’s focus on agriculture, science, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship aligns with contemporary global priorities and presents a unique opportunity to equip students with practical skills capable of driving enterprise, creating employment and fostering sustainable development.

“We commend Governor Hyacinth Alia for translating vision into action through the inauguration of this Task Force Committee. This initiative demonstrates strategic foresight and an unwavering commitment to empowering future generations through quality education, research and innovation,” the statement noted.

CaterandMerger Consult UK further expressed its delight in being associated with this historic initiative through its Nigerian partner, Chief Dr. Clifford Atile, while reaffirming its commitment to supporting collaborations that would strengthen the institution’s development and international outlook.

The organisation also expressed anticipation of the forthcoming working visit of Governor Alia to the United Kingdom, during which CaterandMerger Consult UK will be honoured to host His Excellency and members of his delegation for a series of productive engagements with interested universities, education specialists, agricultural institutions and potential investors.

According to the Board, these engagements are intended to explore strategic partnerships, knowledge exchange opportunities and investment prospects that will contribute to the growth and sustainability of the university and the broader development aspirations of Benue State.

“As Benue State seeks to consolidate its historic position as the Food Basket of Nigeria, institutions such as the Benue State University of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Ihugh, will play a critical role in advancing agricultural research, promoting value addition, encouraging modern farming practices and strengthening food security for future generations,” the statement added.

The Board of CaterandMerger Consult UK congratulated the Chairman and members of the newly inaugurated Task Force Committee and wished them wisdom, diligence and success in delivering on this important assignment.

The organisation expressed confidence that the university will, in due course, emerge as a centre of excellence and a reference point for academic distinction, innovation, entrepreneurship and solution-driven learning in Nigeria and across Africa.
